Virtual Markings Exchange: Five Levels of Data
The Virtual Markings Exchange, with its 5 Levels of V-Markings Data, is the future of HD maps and autonomous vehicle navigation. The first two levels of the V-Markings Data improve the efficiency of existing Automated Driving Systems (ADS). The Level 1 report is the first set of data that provides a detailed review of real-world changes autonomous vehicles need to safely navigate the roads. The information is delivered in monthly reports of summarized changes in architecture, features, and minor features including the total distance of the roads analyzed. This information allows users to know when and how the roads are changing on a regular basis. The report focuses on designated geographic locations and presents additional details about the event; including road name, image data, status, type of marking pattern, and the date each pattern was placed.
